Fortieth Festivities
4th July this year was my fortieth … yes, FORTIETH birthday and I celebrated by hiring out the top floor of my favourite restaurant, The Castle Brasserie in Hurst.
I’m very luck to have some very theatrical and enthusiastic friends and family and, not wishing to waste their talent, I invited my guests to perform short theatrical “turns” throughout the evening.
Not only were we were treated to the inevitable magic and mind-reading, we also enjoyed performances of dance, poetry, classical guitar, singing, the most inventive party games and even a touch of opera. The only downside was that, in all the fun, we hardly took any photos. But below are a small handful to give you a flavour.
| Magician and Mentalist Ian Souch performs a beautiful Argentinean Tango with partner, Liz. | Berkshire Magician, Clive Winterton demonstrates that he is a true artist! |
| The inevitable ritual birthday humiliation. | The birthday boy with lovely wife, Bobbie. |
I’d like to thank everyone who came along and really got into the spirit of the evening. I was truly bowled over by how much effort and preparation went into making my fortieth a birthday that I’ll always remember.
